Overview

This master’s thesis responds to the increasing global aging population and the need for more inclusive and socially engaging environments. The project proposes an intergenerational facility located near nursing homes, designed to bring together elderly residents and younger users through shared programs and spatial strategies.

The design integrates a range of indoor and outdoor spaces, including recreational areas, social gathering zones, and activity-based environments such as daycare, library, and wellness spaces. These functions are organized to encourage interaction while supporting the specific needs of different age groups.

By creating opportunities for collaboration and shared experiences, the project aims to reduce social isolation and promote a stronger sense of community. The architecture balances independence and connection, enhancing quality of life through thoughtful spatial design.
